Not Everything About Traffic Geyser Is Great. Review

Video is set to take centre stage for Google and just about everybody is trying to come up with a product to take advantage of this trend, some successfully, and some less so. And this is where Mike Koenigs and Traffic Geyser enters the fray.

How Does Traffic Geyser Work?

Traffic Geyser is at heart a video submission service. It has some other frills (such as a paid transcription service, and some video hosting) but what you’re paying the big bucks for is the video submission service.

You take the video that you have produced (normally less than 10 mins long) and upload it to Traffic Geyser. They then upload that video to all of the social media and podcast sites around saving you lots of time.

The social media sites that Traffic Geyser will submit your videos to depends on the level of membership that you have. Gold Membership is the most common at $97 per month.

The Good:

Traffic Geyser actually gets the job done. That is, it will submit your video to all of the Social Media sites just like it says it does. The sites that you will be submitting to can also give you some good backlinks, but there are plenty of PR1 sites out there to, so don’t expect all of your links to be juicy. You will improve your video views though, and have a chance of seeing your video go viral.

The Dark Side:

Sadly, you have to manually set up all of the social media sites that you wish to submit to all by yourself, which is no laughing matter. It took me nearly 8 hours to fully set up one profile (50 sites), and you really need to set up 4 profiles for Traffic Geyser to be effective. Traffic Geyser does offer to set them up for you, but for $97 per profile.

In order to get the best out of Traffic Geyser you need to have at least 4 profiles. This will take you about 30 hours to do, or you have to pay Traffic Geyser nearly $400 to get them to set it up for you. I grabbed a copy of Imacro for Firefox and automated a lot of the process, but it took me over a week to set this up.

Google does love videos, but more, it loves NEW videos, which means that your video listing can get dropped fairly quickly, especially in competitive markets.

So, Should I Buy It?

Traffic Geyser is an excellent tool for automating the submission of your videos to social media sites, and also to get some backlinks to your site.

I think that it would be best used by people who are looking to use video to dominate their local markets. I’ve had some great success doing this.

Is Traffic Geyser Worth The Money?

Traffic Geyser is not a budget service. It costs $97 per month, which i consider a little bit excessive. However if you’re creating and distributing 10+ videos per month, then it’s not too bad (working out at about $0.20 per submission)

My Overall Feeling About Traffic Geyser:

I’ve gone on the merry-go-round with Traffic Geyser, and have subscribed several times, and left several times, only to come back. I just can’t find a service that does what Traffic Geyser does, as well as Traffic Geyser does it. I’m not happy about the $97 per month price tag, but for the moment I wear it.

So How Does Traffic Geyser Rank?

Useability: 3 out of 5 (I’m not thrilled about the website, and the user interface isn’t very intuitive)

Usefulness: 4 from a possible 5. Traffic Geyser does exactly what it says it will do.

3. Value for money: Traffic Geyser gets 3 out of 5.. It’s over priced, which leaves it vulnerable to someone else coming around with a similar service for a lot less.

Overall: 3 from 5. Would have been a 4 or maybe a 4.5 but i consider it to be too expensive.

Alternatives to Traffic Geyser:

You could try TubeMogul (FREE) or TrafficBuzz ($37 per month)
